Straight answers about what maas is, what it is not and how MIM works.
- Is maas a software package?
- No. maas is MIM's application infrastructure and operating environment. A client solution combines only the applications and services its outcome requires.
- Do we need to replace our current systems?
- Not automatically. Existing systems may be retained, integrated, migrated or replaced in stages. Discovery establishes what is feasible and useful.
- Can we begin with one application or service?
- Yes. An engagement may begin with a focused workflow, website, mailbox estate, collaboration need or application assessment. Operating dependencies and the future path should still be made explicit.
- What does sovereign mean here?
- It means clearer operational control over where agreed services run, how they connect, who administers them and how change is managed. Exact legal, data-location and third-party conditions are confirmed per engagement.
- Is every service available at every maas site?
- No. Placement and resilience are designed and committed for the particular solution — not assumed across every site.
- Who owns a solution developed for our organisation?
- The agreement identifies ownership of the business-specific solution, MIM's development rights, reusable platform components and third-party software. The intended model is client ownership of solution IP with the rights MIM needs to develop and support it; only the signed agreement establishes the position.
- Is maas automatically secure or compliant?
- No platform can make that blanket promise. Security controls, regulatory obligations, availability, recovery and evidence must be defined for the specific solution and agreement.
- Where will our data be stored?
- Data location depends on the approved architecture, including primary services, replicas, backups, logs and any third-party processors. MIM confirms that scope before delivery.
